Fusion can store the file. It cannot show it to you
Attachments are everywhere in Oracle Fusion, on invoices, purchase orders, projects, journals, and worker records. But the only things you can do with one are upload it and download it. There is no viewer.
Fusion lets me attach a document, but I cannot open it there.

Can users view Oracle Fusion attachments without downloading them?
Yes. With OAN, attachments open directly in the browser in full fidelity. Users no longer have to download a file and open desktop Office just to see what is inside it.
Which file types can be viewed and edited?
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files open in the Microsoft 365 experience for viewing and editing. Other common document types can be viewed in the browser as well.
Do users have to change how they attach documents in Fusion?
No. People attach documents to Fusion transactions exactly as they do today. The viewing and editing experience is added on top, so there is nothing new to learn and no training needed.
Can we allow viewing but control who can edit?
Yes. Editing is a configuration choice. You can enable full editing where it adds value and keep documents view-only elsewhere, per the needs of each team.
Does this work across Oracle Fusion modules?
Yes. Many Fusion modules use document attachments, including Accounts Payable, Procurement, Project Management, Human Capital Management, General Ledger, and Supply Chain. In-place viewing and editing works across them.
Do users need Microsoft Office installed on their machine?
No. The editing experience is web-based through Microsoft 365, so it works in the browser on any device without a local Office installation.
What Microsoft 365 license do we need?
Editing uses Microsoft 365 Office for the web, so users need a Microsoft 365 plan that includes web editing entitlement. Viewing has lighter requirements than full editing. We confirm the exact entitlement with you during the assessment.
Is there a license cost for the OAN integration?
No. The OAN Microsoft 365 integration for Oracle Fusion comes with no license fee. You use your existing Microsoft 365 plan for web editing, and there is no separate OAN product license to buy. Implementation is a services engagement that we scope with you.
